Concept of Matching Ultrasonic Transducer and Ultrasonic Generator
The main consideration when using ultrasonic transducers is the matching with the input and output terminals, followed by mechanical installation and fitting dimensions.
Matching the transducer, driving power supply, and welding mold to form a complete ultrasonic equipment can be referred to as matching. Due to the decisive impact of matching on the overall performance of the machine, the importance of matching cannot be overemphasized. The main consideration for matching is the capacitance of the transducer, followed by the frequency of the transducer.
It should be emphasized that the ultrasonic transducer itself is not an energy generator, it is just an energy converter. It converts electrical energy into sound energy (mechanical energy), and with a good match between input (driving power) and output (amplifier, mold), it can convert (output) a large amount of energy. Input matching refers to the matching between the transducer and the driving power supply. If the output matching is good but the input matching is not good, it indicates that the transducer is weak and the welding is not firm. If the output matching is not good but the input matching is good, the transducer will be overloaded, causing chip misalignment, cracking, breakage, screw breakage, aluminum cracking, or burning of the power tube in the electrical box.

For example, just like when a car suddenly steps on the accelerator in neutral, the engine is definitely prone to damage.
The matching between transducers and ultrasonic generators mainly involves four aspects, namely impedance matching, frequency matching, power matching, and capacitance impedance matching. The most important ones are capacitance and frequency.
