1. Ultrasonic Frequency

Frequencies typically range from 15 kHz to 100 kHz. Select a suitable frequency according to your material type and workpiece thickness. While higher frequencies often deliver better welding results, avoid excessively high values which can damage the welder.

2. Amplitude

Amplitude controls the magnitude of ultrasonic vibration. It must be large enough to induce plastic deformation and molecular diffusion at the material interface, yet not excessive enough to compromise the weld. Amplitude is normally adjusted from several micrometers up to tens of micrometers.

3. Welding Force

Welding force defines the compressive load applied between the horn and workpiece. Proper force encourages molecular diffusion at the joint and helps form a sound weld. Too much force can crack or deform workpieces, while insufficient force fails to create a reliable bond.

4. Welding Time

Welding duration usually falls between several hundred milliseconds and a few seconds. Insufficient time prevents full weld formation; overly long exposure causes overheating and workpiece damage.

5. Power Supply

The generator must provide enough power to sustain ultrasonic vibration, but output should not be excessive to prevent overheating. Typical power ratings range from several hundred watts to several kilowatts.
