What is Ultrasonic Float Glass Coating?

Float glass is a very smooth and deformation free glass used in many window applications. It also provides materials for many other forms of glass, including colored glass (heat absorbing) and laminated glass. There are two types of float glass: transparent glass and colored glass.

Most flat glass produced by float method is transparent glass. As the name suggests, transparent glass is transparent and colorless. According to its thickness, transparent glass allows 75% to 92% of visible light to pass through.

The upper surface of glass is called the air side or the scratch side. This is polished with fire. The lower surface is called the tin surface. It is not polished with fire. Glass enters an oven called an annealing kiln from the chamber. There, it cools slowly at a specific rate. This process is called annealing, which can reduce the internal stress of the glass. Cooling speed is crucial for the success of the final product. Glass is exposed from the annealing furnace at room temperature, forming a continuous strip. It is flat, with a fireproof treatment at the top and a smooth and parallel surface. The automatic cutting machine trims the edges and cuts the glass to a certain length.

Previously, most glass manufactured in the United States was flat glass. Flat glass is made through grinding and polishing processes. Due to the safety hazards and low energy efficiency caused by the breakage of flat glass, it is no longer manufactured in the country and has been replaced by float glass. Float glass refers to the glass manufacturing process developed by Pilkington Brothers Limited in the UK in 1959.

Colored glass (also known as endothermic glass) is made by adding colorants to the ingredients. These reagents include bronze, gray, green, and blue. As the glass becomes thicker, the density of colors also increases. This will result in less visible light transmission through the glass. The transmittance of colored glass varies between 14% and 83%, depending on its color and thickness.

The anti fouling coating process of the ultrasonic float glass coating system prevents corrosion, and a uniform coating of acidic mixture is deposited on the glass to prevent the formation of stains during glass transportation and storage. The float glass coating system using ultrasonic spraying is an effective alternative to powder spraying or pressure spraying processes, which has significant advantages compared to other spraying methods. The most important thing is that there is no blockage and minimal material overspray, making it very thin and uniform.

This environmentally friendly coating system significantly reduces material consumption, deposits thinner and more uniform layers, has no dripping, and greatly reduces maintenance. Applying a very thin, uniform, and durable coating can minimize emissions and energy requirements during the deposition process, reduce drying time, and make the coating easy to wash off, providing excellent protection for the glass.

1. Reliable and repeatable non clogging spray.

Compared to pressure spraying, it greatly reduces maintenance.

3. Verified reliability of 24/7 all-weather manufacturing operations.

4. Heating liquid ability of high viscosity polymer solutions.

5. Almost no spray or mess.

6. spray width control of lite with different widths.

7. The system is configured to automatically detect glass or trigger it through the coating machine PLC.

8. No need for exhaust.
