Device Description:

The customized 100 kHz ultrasonic catalyst coating system for hydrogen-production electrolyte membranes, independently developed by FUNSONIC, features fully automatic operation and double-sided coating capability. It enables separate application of distinct catalyst formulations on the anode and cathode sides of the membrane. Verified through customer field application, the ultrasonic coating process outperforms alternative coating technologies in durability and batch repeatability, effectively prolonging the service life of PEM coatings.

Quantitative Indicators :

1. Spray Rate

Definition: The volume of ink or coating material sprayed per unit time, generally measured in milliliters per minute (mL/min) or grams per minute (g/min).

Measurement Method: Collect and weigh or measure the volume of liquid ejected from the nozzle over a fixed period of time to calculate the average spray rate.

2. Spraying Uniformity

Definition: The consistency of coating thickness and material distribution across the entire sprayed surface.

Measurement Method: Test the coating layer using a thickness gauge or scanning electron microscope (SEM). Record thickness data at multiple sampling points and calculate the thickness deviation across different areas to evaluate uniformity.

3. Coverage Rate

Definition: The percentage of the substrate surface covered by sprayed coating material relative to the total substrate area.

Measurement Method: Capture surface images of the coated substrate, then use image analysis software to calculate the area ratio of the covered region to the total substrate area and obtain the final coverage rate.

4. Catalytic Activity

Definition: The working efficiency of a catalyst in a specific chemical reaction, commonly evaluated based on reaction conversion rate and product selectivity.

Measurement Method: Detect and record the concentration changes of reactants and products before and after the reaction through experimental tests, so as to calculate the corresponding catalytic activity.

5. Material Utilization Rate

Definition: The ratio of the effectively deposited and utilized catalyst mass to the total mass of catalyst sprayed during the process.

Measurement Method: Weigh the catalyst mass before spraying and collect the residual waste catalyst after spraying. Calculate material loss and further derive the actual utilization rate of the coating material.

6. Spray Coating Quality

Definition: The comprehensive performance of the sprayed coating, including bonding adhesion, wear resistance and chemical stability.

Measurement Method: Conduct standardized professional tests on coating adhesion and wear resistance to verify overall coating quality.

7. Economic Analysis

Definition: The cost-effectiveness of the spraying process, covering material consumption cost, time cost and equipment maintenance cost.

Measurement Method: Calculate the total operating cost of the spraying process and the spraying efficiency per unit area, so as to comprehensively evaluate the economic benefits of the process.

8. Environmental Impact

Definition: The environmental load generated during the spraying operation, including exhaust gas emissions, wastewater discharge and other process-related pollutants.

Measurement Method: Real-time monitor pollutant emissions throughout the spraying process, and conduct a full life cycle assessment (LCA) to quantify the overall environmental impact.
