The 120kHz low-power ultrasonic spray nozzle is a core component of precision atomization equipment. Membrane electrodes fabricated via ultrasonic spraying feature high‑level automation, good production efficiency and low manufacturing costs, making the process suitable for mass‑production requirements. For membranes coated by ultrasonic spraying, platinum utilization can reach approximately 90 %. This cuts material consumption and reduces consumption of costly catalyst ink.

During electrolysis operations for fuel cells and Nafion‑based proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers, the ultrasonic coating system forms highly durable, uniform coatings from carbon‑based catalyst inks without inducing membrane deformation. To deposit consistent catalyst layers onto PEM fuel cells, gas diffusion layers (GDLs), electrodes, different electrolyte membranes and solid‑oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), spray suspensions containing carbon‑black ink, PTFE binder, ceramic slurry, platinum and other noble metals are used.

Ultrasonic spraying also processes suspensions of metal oxides and other metal alloys - including platinum‑, nickel‑, iridium‑ and ruthenium‑based fuel‑cell catalyst coatings. It supports production of PEM fuel cells, PEM electrolyzers, direct‑methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) and SOFCs, delivering high catalyst loading and improved cell efficiency.
